Your body actually makes its own cannabinoids. These are called endocannabinoids. If you’ve ever experienced a runner’s high, or the thrill of singing along to your favorite song, you’ve felt the work of endocannabinoids. When plants make this type of compound, they’re called phytocannabinoids. CBD is one of over a hundred types of phytocannabinoids found in hemp plants, and taking CBD is an easy way to support your body’s own production of endocannabinoids.
Will CBD Get Me High? | The Difference Between CBD vs. THC | Hemp
The short answer to the question ‘will CBD get me high?’ is no. CBD is non-intoxicating and will not get you high. We mentioned above that hemp plants have over one hundred types of compounds in them. One of these is THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) which is the compound that causes the high associated with cannabis. Green Roads’ CBD products are made with cannabidiol from hemp plants that meet the legal qualifications for industrial hemp. One qualification is that the plant contains less than 0.3% THC by dry weight. This minimal amount is already not enough to cause a high, hence the legality of industrial hemp.
Is there ANY THC in Green Roads CBD Products?
The answer: it depends on the type of extract in your Green Roads CBD product. Basically, the extract type refers to whether the product in question is made with just CBD, or other cannabinoids and aromatic compounds known as terpenes.
Why does this matter?
It has to do with a phenomenon known as the entourage effect, which is when multiple cannabinoids and terpenes synergize in your body for greater wellness potential. The entourage effect makes sense in terms of nature. After all, cannabidiol is never an isolated powder by itself in the wild. It’s always present in a hemp plant together with aromatic terpenes, and other cannabinoids like cannabigerol, (CBG) cannabinol (CBN) and cannabichromene (CBC). There are three extraction types you should know about:
Broad Spectrum CBD
Broad spectrum CBD products are made with cannabidiol and a broad range of other cannabinoids. These products have non-detectable levels of THC, which is a scientifically accurate way of saying they have essentially none. The broad range of cannabinoids is intended to offer you the entourage effect.
Full Spectrum CBD
Full spectrum CBD products are made with a full range of natural cannabinoids and terpenes. This includes up to the legal limit of 0.3% THC. When taken properly, full-spectrum CBD products are still non-intoxicating. They’re formulated with the intent of giving you the most holistic entourage effect.
Isolate CBD
These products are made with just CBD, no other cannabinoids from hemp.
